Japanese invasion of China
Japan wanted to gain power however it was a small country. Japan gained more land by invading China. Japan joined the axis alliance with Germany and Italy by in 1940 by signing the Tripartite Pact. The invasion was the biggest Asian war in the twentieth century. Japan gained control by taking control of railroads, roads, and cities. The invasion ended in September 9, 1945 after Japan surrendered to China and the Allied forces.

Germany's invasion of Poland
The invasion was led by the Nazis, a little control by the Slovaks, and the Soviet Union. Hitler decision to invade was seen as a gamble and a risk. Hitler rushed through the plan to attack thinking the invasion would be easy to defeat. Poland asked France and Britian for help. On the 3rd of september France and Britain declared war on Germany. After Poland was defeated, the country was divided up between Germany and the Soviet Union.

German Blitzkrieg
The German Blizkrieg is a German military tactic that is means a suprise attack. The success of the tactic is that many people were killed and in short military campaigns. The Bilzkrieg was used on poland in 1939 and it was succesfull. In May 10 1940, it was used on Belgium, the Netherlands and France. German made the tactic to gain control of the country quickly and avoid long war.

Pearl Harbor
Japan attacked the U.S Navy in Pearl Harbor by destroying many ships and killing solders. The attack was the reason the U.S entered WW2. Japan was worried about the U.S Navy in Hawaii. So they decided to attack thinking the U.S would never attack. However, U.S declared war the next day.The attack lasted under two hours.

Bataan Death March
The Bataan Death March was when the Japanese forced 76,000 captured Allied soldiers to march the Bataan Peninsula. After Pear Harbour, Japan began to take over areas in the southeast Asia.and Japan defeted the U.S Filipino army on Bataan at the Battle of Bataan. The took soliders as prisoners and starve them. Manhattan Project
Manhattan project was the name of the first atomic bomb. Scientist wanted to develop a bomb that would kill alot of people. The project started small but as it got bigger U.S wanted to be the first to have the bomb. The first scientist was called J. Robert Oppenheimer and is Known as "father of the atomic bomb". Einstein had a theory of the atomic war and was worried of what it might happen.

A battle between Japan and the U.S.It was a Turning point between the battle of the pacific. Because the U.S attacked in Japan home islands, so Japan wanted to attack in the pacific ocean. Operation Gomorrah
Britain bombed Hamburg, Germany. Because of the German boming attack in july, Britain were suffering from the death of 167 people. The British boming attack continued till november. Many British bombs were lost. Hitler didn't went to any of the bombed cities and it reflected the end of the war for him.

Allied invasion of Italy
The allies attacked Italy mainland. When Mussolini was overthrown the day after the fall of Sicily. The allies wanted to invade Italy. Italy agreed to surrender. But they would expel Germans from Italy. Mussolini was rescued and was a leader of a Nazi puppet state.

It was the biggest and last pacific battle in WW2. The battle wa between Japan and the allies forces. The battle resulted the victory of the Allies forces. It had the most casualties with over 100,000 Japanese casualties and 50,000 casualties for the Allies. Both sides of the commanders died.

Battle of the atomic bombs
An atomic bomb named "Little Boy" was dropped on hiroshima, Japan by the U.S.. The U.S dropped it because of the Japan invasion. Japan didnt surrender after the atomic bomb. August 9, 1945, another atomic bomb, nicknamed "Fat Man", was dropped on Nagasaki, Japan. 6 days later Japan surrendered. The bomb ws made up of Uranium.
