    The Northwest Ordinance was an act of the Congress of the Confedration, it created the Northwest Territory. The U.S. bought this land so we could expand westward, and it is located in the Northwest Territory.

    The Erie Canal in New York that had ran 363 miles from Albany, on the Hudson River to buffalo, New York, at Lake Erie. It was to help with imports and exporting. This helped with job and coloniesing new areas.

    Was a 29,640-square-mile region of present-day southern Arizona and southwestern New Mexico that was purchased by the U.S. in a treaty signed on December 30, 1853 by James Gadsden. This added land to the U.S. so we could expand the county.
  • Kansas-Nebraska Act

    It was the territories of Kansas and Nebraska, and it opened new lands for settlement, and this caused the had the repealing the Missouri Compromise of 1820 because it allowed male settlers in those territories to determine through popular sovereignty whether they would allow slavery within each territory or State. It helped people have the idea of wanting to to move away from where we were.

    " Anyone who had never taken up arms against the U.S. government (including freed slaves and women), was 21 years or older, or the head of a family, could file an application to claim a federal land grant." It gave hope that anyone could own land, and people moved away to new lands for a secound chance.

    This act authorized the President of the United States to survey American Indian tribal land and divide it into allotments for individual Indians. This pushed the indians into a smaller plot of land, so we could move westward.

    It was a conflict in 1898 between Spain and the United States, it took place around present day. We won and claimed texas as a new state.
