Under the terms of the treaty, Britain recognized the independent nation of the U.S.A. Britain agreed to remove all their troops from the new nation. The treaty also set new borders for the U.S.A. The people used this land to live free from the British and the land is still controlled by the U.S. -

The American statesman John Jay went to England to negotiate disagreements between the two governments. Jay's Treaty was signed, avoiding war. The Treaty eliminated British control of western post. America got a limited right to trade in the West Indies. The Americans also had to pay for damages to British ships. -

They went there in peace to plant and were attacked by militia men with little skill. Black Hawk and his people ended up fighting until Black Hawk and his son surrendered and were imprisioned. -

This is still inact today. the channel of the Rio Grande in the Hidalgo–Reynosa area was relocated to transfer from Mexico to the United States by constructing a new earth channel 1.6 miles in length. This made boundries offical so people knew how far to go in either country.
