The Lewis and Clark Exploration
Jefferson wanted Lewis and Clark to explore the Louisana Territory. He hired them to described the landscape, plants, and animals. Jefferson also wanted Lewis and Clark to create good relations with the Native Americans. Since Lewis and Clark would be going through Natives territory they would need a Native American to talk to other tribes and to show Lewis and Clark short cuts. Lewis and Clark got the Native American woman named Sacagawea that would help them get through the Louisana Territory. -

The trouble with mexico started when Texas and Mexico could not agree with an offical border. Polk sent an interpruter go and ask Mexico if they would sell New Mexico, Texas, and California for $30 million dollars, Mexico refused the offer. Mexico crossed Rio Grande and ambushed American territory and shed blodd on American soil. Then Congress declared war. The Americans won the war because Santa Anna retreated. -

Bleeding Kansas
During an election in 1855 in the Kansas Territory there was more proslavery people than antislavery people. One of Kansas’s neighboring states Missouri sent about five thousand of its residents to Kansas and those residents voted illegally. John Brown led a group of seven men into a massacre which ended up making antislavery and proslavery go into war and that war lasted for three years and the war’s name was Bleeding Kansas. -

John Wilkes Booth fatally shot President Lincoln at the Ford's Theatere. It was only five days after the Confederate General surrendered ending The American Civil War. -
