Finding America
This is the year they first found the New World and settled in Jamestown. -
The First Africans
The first Africans that arrived in Jamestown were not slaves. They only served for money and only for an amount of time. -
French and Indian War
In this year was the beginnings of when they started to have struggle with each other with later, caused the French and Indian War. -
American Revolution
This is the year of when the American Revolution first started. This continued until the year 1783. -
July 4
On July fourth, America signed the Declaration of Independence. This is when America truly was free. They officially got America and were officially free. -
Melting Pot
The first time people from far places of the world was in these times. Even people from Germany started to come. They called it the Melting Pot because everyone was coming everywhere so America was mixing. America was becoming a mixed country. -
Drafting The Constitution

The Death of George Washington
George Washington Died in 1799 in Mount Vernon also letting all of his slaves be free.

Railroads
The first railroads and steam locomotive were built which was a huge turning point for the economy in America.

The Americans stretched their land to the west. It was like they were destined to uncover the whole America. -
The Mexican-American War
The Mexican-American war was when America and Mexico separated their lands and Mexico became it's own country. -
The Women's Rights
starting from this year women were treated how they weren't supposed to. They were seen as unimportant people. The women right's movement was a rebellion against this. -
Underground Railroads
By 1850 100,00 slaves escaped from the owners. The underground railroads were something that has helped African Americans for a long time. A lot of these African Americans weren't free before the Underground Railroads. -
Free African Americans
At 1860 there were 1.5 million free African Americans. This was a big change in history. -
The Civil War
The Civil War was a war against the Americans. The Americans were fighting themselves. This was all for slavery. Over 640,000 American Soldiers died in the four year war. -
Presidential Reconstruction
After Lincoln died, the Vice President became the President. Andrew Johnson thought that African Americans shouldn't vote and he treated them very bad. -
Reconstruction
After the Civil War most Americans were still against one another about slavery. This was the "Reconstruction Era," where America tried to Reconstruct itself. -
The Assassination of Abraham Lincoln
The assassination of Abraham Lincoln was a very horrible time. It happened at a Theater and this effected many citizens. Everybody was sad.
