  • American Revolution

    American Revolution
    The American colonists from England were fighting for their independence from Britain and an independent government because the British were taxing them for the Seven Years War in Europe despite them being a separate colony already that wasn’t involved in it. The American colonies were a victim of unfair taxation under the British and the Stamp Act that initiatives their taxation was a push closer to edge. Their efforts were successful although a war in the new land of now America broke out.
  • French Revolution

    French Revolution
    The French were also forced to play for the debts from ten Seven Years War and the majority of taxation fell on the Third Estate. This sparked them to come to the king with a petition that he was still unable to act upon, then sparking the French Revolution. The Third Estate overtook the French government and was successful in the short term by replacing the monarch a National Assembly of their own members, but they ultimately failed in the long run.

    Declaration of the Rights of Man
    The people of French owned colony Saint Domingue were outraged over the fact that only “true Frenchmen” had freedom and liberty in the colony despite 90% of the population consisting of slaves and those ineligible for this “freedom”. A group of people of color who also had freedom created a petition to give equal rights to all regardless of background rights of liberty and brought it to the attention to the revolutionary government of France, their idea of liberty didn’t apply to the enslaved.
  • Venezuelan Revolution

    Venezuelan Revolution
    The trade restrictions among the different classes in Venezuela caused outrage among many labeled as slaves who wanted the freedom to trade. They lived in outrage with opinions against the higher classes until Napoleon allowed them to declare their independence during his reign. All of their wishes of liberty were granted but soon taken away after Napoleon was defeated and they were ultimately unsuccessful when their efforts were taken away from them.

    Mexico Wins Independence From Spain
    The people of Mexico and Haiti were outraged by the foreign oppression from Spain and their control over liberties and rights, especially for people of mixed heritage. In 1810, priest Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla let a revolt of the people against Spain’s rule in Mexico for unjust taxation. His revolt failed but sparked additional resistance against Spain and Mexico eventually won their independence in 1821.
  • Indian boycott

    Indian boycott
    The nation of India was under British rule when they created the Indian National Congress and requested the freedom to govern their own country in the late 19th century. They were denied of that, but they began boycotting the use and buying of British-made goods rather than resist and revolt using violent matters. They wanted their freedom for their people and government from Britain and used means to attack them economically rather than physically and were victorious and morally content.
