Timeline of Shealyn's Life

  • Born

    I was born in Novato, CA, to two parents (Bill & Barb). I was born soon after they were married so my parents were young. I was the first grandchild and the first girl on both sides of the family.

  • Nanny

    Both of my parents worked in the city so I had a nanny. My nanny was from Guatemala and taught me some spanish. It helped me a lot through my educational career as I ended up studying spanish for 7 years.

  • PreK

    I went to preschool. It was a private school through the church.

  • Krissy is Born

    When I was 2 1/2 my little sister was born. I was used to being an only child so this was a huge upset to my world. I was very unhappy with my parents at the time and I hated my sister and would be mean to her and act out for attention, but now we are close.

  • Kindergarten

    I began public kindergarten. Their were so many young kids where I lived the elementary schools were very crowded so kindergarten was only half day. My nanny would pick me up after kindergarten.

  • 9/11

    I was about seven years old when this happened, and I remember watching the planes crash into the buildings on tv. My parents where freaking out and then the whole airport security system changed. I flew a lot so I saw these changes and how they affected travel time.

  • Middle School

    I went to middle school which was sixth, sevent and eighth grade. I was very involved in sports- volleyabll, track and cheer. I spent a lot of time with my teammates and coaches. In eighth grade my all star cheer team won nationals which was a pretty great accomplishment.

  • High School

    I went to two different high schools. Tam, was where I went freshamn year and it was the school my middle school feed into. But then I switched into a different school in the district, Redwood for the rest of the time. I was very involved at redwood; senior class VP and capatain of the varsity cheer team.

  • Graduated High School

    I graduated from Redwood High School with honors. My family expected me to go to college after high school. In my community thier was a lot of pressure to go to a really good university not just commuinty college.

  • College

    I began my freshman year at ASU in 2012. I am currently a sophomore here. I love living in AZ and trying somethng new. I also love my major, ECE. I want to become a kindergarten or frst grade teacher.
