Birth of Muhammed
Muhammed was born in the city of Mecca. The city was already a site for religious pilgrimage as it housed the Black Stone, a meteorite, housed within the Kabah. -

Muhammad's Early Life
Muhammad worked as a Carvan driver in and around the trade routes to Mecca. He would have been well aware of the teachings of Judaism and Christianity due to his contact with foreigners and missionaries in the trade caravans. -

First Revelation of Muhammad
At age 40 Muhammad sees his first revelation from Allah while atop Mt. Hira. -

The First Muslims
Muhammad becomes convinced that these revelations are from the Angel Gabriel. He shares his revelations with his family and they become the first Muslims. Muslim means "people who submit" to God. -

Muhammad Flees To Medina
Muhammad denounces the worship of many tribal gods and idols in Mecca. Because of this he is forced to flee persecution and travels to Medina. Here he builds and army for his return of Mecca. -

Muhammad's "Night Journey / Ascent"
In the night Muhammad is carried from Medina to Jerusalem in a revelation. It's said he meets all the prophets, including Jesus and he is declared the last prophet of Allah. -

Conquest of Mecca
Muhammed returns to Mecca with his army and conquered the city. Here he destroys all idols and purges the city of the worship of pantheon / tribal gods. -

Conquest of The Arabian Peninsula
Muhammad continued after capturing Mecca and brought much of the Arabian Peninsula under Islamic rule. -

The Death of Muhammad
After returning to Mecca on one last pilgrimage the prophet Muhammad returned to Medina where he died aged 62. -

The Consolidation and Writing of The Quaran
After the death of Muhammad his followers brought together all of his teachings / revelations and compiled them into the Quaran.
