Timeline of exposure to new media

    Exposure to television
    My first media exposure is Television because my parents believed that it could be another good way for me to learn and visualize new words. They made sure that television is used in moderation and the shows are appropriate for my age.
  • Exposure to books

    I was given story books and read bedtime stories during toddler years. Early exposure to books provide a solid foundation for development of reading skills.
  • Movies

    Through watching movies, children are given the chance to imagine and develop their story telling skills.
  • Video games

    I was given the chance to play video games games because it enhances analytical and problem solving skills. By trying to win or finish a certain game, patience and analysis is needed.
  • Computer

    Computer
    Tech literacy is a valuable skill and one in which my parents encouraged me to develop from an early age. With the help of my teachers and parents, I am able to familiarize in using different applications of the computer.
  • Internet

    With the supervision of my parents, I learned how to research for informations needed for schoolwork. Of course they made sure to check the sites and limit my use of the internet.
  • Cellphone

    I was given my first cellphone during grade school because my parents liked the idea they could get in touch with me easily in case of emergency.
