Theodore Robert Bundy was born to an unwed mother believing his grandparents his parents and his mother a sister to hide the shame. -
First assault
He entered the basement bedroom of an eighteen year old female student at the University of Washtington. He sexually assaulted her then beat her with a metal rod from her bed frame causing permanent brain damage. -
Second assault
Another female student from the University of Washington, she was actually killed and her body dumped at a seperate location -
Third assault
He kidnapped and murdered a nineteen year old female student from Oregon State University. -
Fourth assault
Lured a female student from Central Washington State College by wearing a cast on his arm and asking for help to put some books in his car. This car was a Volkswagen Beetle. -
Fifth assault
Female student from Oregon State University was last seen in May of 1974. -
Sixth and Seventh assault
Two young female students were killed. One after she was seen leaving a tavern during the night, the other while she was walking back to her sorority house on the University of Washington campus after visiting her boyfriend's dorm room. Witnesses say they had seen a man with a cast on his leg ask for some help putting groceries into his Volkswagen Beetle. -
Eighth and Nineth assaults
Ted Bundy had changed both the location and time of day in which he found his victims. Lake Sammamish State Park in Washington became his next target, during the day. He abducted two females and killed them within the same day. Witnesses gave a description of a handsome Canadian named Ted asked them to help him get a sailboat out of his Volkswagen Bettle due to his arm being in a sling. Police ignored the tip given to the police about Ted Bundy being a suspect. -
New state, new prowling grounds
Ted Bundy moved to attend law school in Salt Lake City, Utah. Along with the new location, there was a new MO (modus operandi) including the age group he targeted. -
Police or not?
Three young female victims died in the month of October. Ted had been pretending to be a police officer doing an investigation to lure away his victims. -
Police scam failed
On two occasions within the month of November Ted Bundy's fake police officer scam failed. A young female was handcuffed in Ted's car, but when he went to strike her with a crowbar she managed to jump out of the vehicle while he was driving. At a Utah high school, Ted tried to convince both a student and a teacher to come to his "police car," but they had refused. He then abducted a seventeen year old female student who was leaving school to pick up her little brother and was murdered. -
Colorado & Idaho
From January through May of 1975 there were four more female victims using his injured leg scam again. One victim was taken from outside her hotel while she was on vacation. Two other victims were taken from the parking lot of a ski kill. Lastly, the fourth victim, a junior high school student, disappeared when walking home. -
Arrested!
Failing to stop for a police officer got Ted Bundy arrested in August of 1975. When his Volkswagen Beetle was searched, police found what they thought were burglary tools. These tools include a crowbar, ice pick, handcuffs, trash bags, and a ski mask. -
Sentencted!
Bundy was sentenced to 15 years in prison for kidnapping. -
Escape!
Awaiting trial for the Utah murders, Bundy escapes fromt the law library of the court building. 6 days later he is caught, -
Escaped again!
7 months after the first break out, Bundy had escape again and made his way to Florida by train, stolen car, and bus transportation. -
Attacks again!
Late one night, four female students from a sorority house at Florida State University were brutally attacked within a time frame of 30 minutes. Two of the students died after the attack while the other two were severely injured. A few blokcks away Bundy broke into a home severely injuring a female student in her sleep. -
Final attack
Bundy attacked and killed a twelve year old girl in south Florida. Only a week later Bundy was caught in a stolen Volkswagen Beetle. -
Death
Eventually confessing to the murder of 35young women, Bundy was convicted of several counts of first-degree murder and after losing a few court appeals, executed Jan 24, 1989.
