Initiation Stage
The Initiation stage marked the beginning of the Mexican Independence Movement. Started with the Grito de dolores, to Acatita de Bajan were Miguel Hidalgo and other leaders were captured and murdered. -
Miguel Hidalgo takes San Miguel
This was one of his first victories, but the rebels started getting out of order and became more like a mob. -
Alhóndiga de Granaditas
As Miguel Hidalgo threathened to take over the city, some spainiared retrieved to the Alhóndiga. A strong building believed that could stop the insurgent forces. The building was breached and most of the spaniards killed. It is said that "El Pipila" carried a big rock on his back and set the door on fire and allowed the rebels to go in. -
The Battle of "Monte de las Cruces"
As the rebels entered the city of Toluca some royalist took stategic standpoints. In the end the insurgentes won yet they were many losses on both sides. So Hidalgo decides to retreat, perhaps if he pushed forward they would have won. -
Batalla del Puente Calderón
In this battle the rebels outmaned the Spaniards about sixteen to one, it was one of the greatest victories for the spanish army. The rebels having 100,000 men and the Spaniards only 6,000. Hidalgo and Ignacio Allende fled to the north towards Coahuila. -
Miguel Hidalgo´s Execution
Miguel Hidalgo was captured along with other Insurgent leaders. He was stripped from his titled and murdered. Jose Maria Morelos becomes the new rebel leader. -

Constitution of Apatzingán
The consitution of Apatzingán was creted by the Congress of Chilpancingo (AKA Congress of Anáhuac). It was lead by Jose Maria Morelos. -
The Battle of Temalaca
In this battle in Temalaca, Puebla, the rebels suffered a defeat and the capturing of their leader, Morelos. He was captured then executed it was the end of the second phase of the independence. -

Plan de Iguala
The Plan said three things: Creoles and Peninsulares were equal, it would become a constitutional monarchy and that the state would be Roman Catholic. It was created by Agustin Iturbide and Vicente Guerrero. The Ejercito de las Tres Guarantías was created in order to protect the Plan de Iguala. -

War of Independence Ends
A month later after signing the treaty of Cordoba, Agustin Iturbide and his army marched triumphantly through Mexico. The war had ended!
