    All the people working on the conspiracy were in danger because it somehow got to the Spanish generals. Josefa Ortiz de Dominguez lets the group know what happened before it is too late. She gets captured and asked for information but she doesn’t say a word about what she and the others were planning.

    Grito de Dolores
    Miguel Hidalgo and Ignacio Allende got together for a shout dedicated to the creoles and indians to fight with the Spanish government. This famous shout of help and bravery motivated the citizens of the colony to have a voice again in the government.

    Rebels' First Fight
    Miguel Hidalgo and his army fight towards the Spanish in Guanajuato. The Intendant of Guanajuato agreed to fight even though Hidalgo had more soldiers willing to fight than him. Hidalgo recruited rebels to help him fight and they succeeded in the attack.

    Consolidation, Battle of Monte de las Cruces
    Battle of monte de las cruces: Hidalgo’s and Allende’s troops took part in this battle that they ended up winning. Hidalgo’s army consisted of Indians.
  • Battle of Calderon Bridge

    Battle of Calderon Bridge
    Hidalgo and Allende fought the battle of Calderon Bridge between them and General Felix Calleja. This was the last battle that Miguel Hidalgo fought before he was exiled by the Spanish government. The rebels ended up losing because General Felix hurt many indians and they couldn’t win the battle after that.

    Hidalgo Dies
    Hidalgo is captured by the Spaniards and killed in front of the citizens; his head was shown to them as a warning for them so stop the Independence movement. Jose Maria Morelos was the new leader of the Independence because all the others who helped create it were sentenced to jail.

    Battle of Temalaca
    This battle took part in Puebla and was led by the rebel’s new ruler: Jose Maria Morelos. He was captured in this battle (picture shown) and executed.
