    Spanish took over a lot of the privileges that the Criollos enjoyed. Different important people of the Criollos Background joined together and they talked about wanting to get rid of the Spaniards in New spain so they could be able to have the positions that they deserved.

    The conspiracies that they planned were not held as a secret because one priest found out and told one of the Spanish of what they were planning. When the Spanish found out they started to demand these people to get arrested which most of them did. The first thing that Allende did when he got the news was going to Dolores to warn Hidalgo

    Allende arrived to Dolores and told the problem to Hidalgo, which was the cause of the Grito de Dolores. Hidalgo called battle using the bell as an icon of Our Lady Guadalupe. Miguel Hidalgo joined the Mexican pueblo and began the war.

    The Spanish locked themselves in the Granaditas during the battle. “El Pipila” carried a rock behind his back so he couldn’t be killed with a bow and set the door of the Alhóndiga on fire with a torch.
