    In 1987, Jones launched M/EU (Mind Extension University) a cable company that aired various educational programs.

  • 1994/95- CALCAMPUS- and it first use of online-based schooling.

    CALCAMPUS was the first to develop and implement the concept of a totally online-based school through which administrators,and real-time classrom instruction was created.Materials for this schooling project were provided originating with the Quantumlink campus.This was an important departure from earlier methods of distance education-Distant learning was no longer isolated from the teacher and from the instuctors and classmates.

  • 1995-Nice Net was initiated to the Public.

    1995-Nice Net was initiated to the Public.
    Nice Net is a learning Network which was orignally called the "Interactive Learning net work". It was developed at Cornell University by the course informational team. The product was installed at several academic institutions including Cornell University, Yale Medical School and the University of Pittsburgh. This interactive learning NetWork was the first elearning system of its kind to leverage and install on top of a relational database. By 1997 webCT was released.

    MY CONCLUSION
    Since the inception of online learning, various Universities, and companies have developed a series of on online educational materials to facilitae distant learning. By the 1990's, the techonolgy of online learning accelerated. The Suuny network has been very instrumental in its expansion of online education.

    In 1994,The Computer Assisted Personalized Aproach (CAPA) gave birth to the Lotus Learning Management System and Lotus Virtual classroom, now owned by IBM. In August and September of 1994, a virtual Summer School (VSS) was opened for University undergraduates.
