    The crusades were a series of religous wars fought between christians and muslums. They were fighting over the holy land or Jerusalem. The crusades were won by the muslums, but did introduce Europeans to new foods, spices, and tools. The crusades were very expensive and took a lot of time, leaving a large impact on Europe.

    The black death was a very deadly plauge that killed thousands of people during the middle ages. It was mostly transmitted through fleas and rats and was almost guaranteed to kill you once you had it. To stop the disease from spreading the people even started burning infected bodies!

    The Dias Voyage was a voyage where Bartolommew Dias discovered an overseas trade route around Africa. This allowed each country to grow and continue becoming better.

    Ponce de Leon Explores Florida
    The Spanish explorer Juan Ponce de Leon sailed onto the Florida shore. Juan Ponce de Leon was the first person credited for landing on the Florida coast, although others had seen it before . He was there searching for the legendary fountain of youth, but instead found natives who attacked him. He got fatal wounds from the battle and died shortly after in Cuba.

    The posting of the 95 thesis was basically the start of the reformation. The 95 thesis were 95 problems Martin Luthor had with the church after reading the bible for himself. This led to the people revolting and overthrowing the power of the church. That is what made this important.

    In 1521 Martin Luthor was excommunicated from the church for his opinions about how religon should be run after reading through the bible. This was important because it led to the reformation of the church soon after.

    Anne Boelyn was King Henry's wife whom could not deliver him the son he wanted so badly. After starting his own church to marry someone else he had her executed in order to become a widow and get re-married. This helped the English reformation begin.

    Coronado Explores Grand Canyon
    Francisco Vazquez de Coronado was credited with exploring and discovering many famous south-west land marks, such as the grand canyon. He found it while searching for the legendary Seven Golden Cities of Cibola. They never did find them though.

    While not permanent roanoke was the very first British colony in North America. It was what started the British on their path to colonizing America. It took place 22 years before Jamestown was founded, however when on for a trade, someone eventually came to Roanoke and found that the hundreds that lived there had gone without a trace and the word "croatoen" was carved into a tree. Because of this it is often called "The Lost Colony".

    The French and Indian War, also known as The Seven Years War to the indians, was a war in which the British fought against the French. Due to better treatment most Indian tribes allied with the French. In the end the British won the war which allowed them to get more American land.

    The first continental congress was the very first meeting of all the very important rebels in the english colonys. They met to talk about the actions of teh British and how the colonists should protest. One solution they tried from this meeting was sending a letter to the King of England. That did not work when they tried it.

    The Declaration of Independence signing was the event that started the revolution. It was how America officially declared independence and is what made England hostile towards them. This was probably the biggest turning point in America's history.

    The Battle of Saratoga was a turning point in teh Maerican Revoulution. The British lost the Battle of Saratoga to the American troops led by General George Washington. This battle convinced the French to officially recognize the U.S. as its own contry.

    The Oregon Trail was the name given to a massive migration to the Western United States . Many people who took this trial were killed. Others who survived were given free land. This was important because it caused a large population boom in the west and helped grow our country.

They had decided to leave the established trail and take a "shortcut" that actually added a hundred miles to the Journey.The donners got stranded and after running out of food, resorted to cannibalism. This was important because it proved how dangerous the path was.

    Dred Scott was a slave who was owned by a military doctor. He trated Dred well, but they moved around a lot. Eventually they moved to Wisconsin, a free state. There Dred's master died leaving him to live years of a free life. All until the masters family came to get him, but Dred sued for freedom and ended up losing.This was important because it made a push for slavery in the south.

    The battle of Fort Sumter was the first battle of teh civil war. It lasted from April 12-14. This battle was very important because it started the civil war. Soon after this battle some states succeeded from the union.

    The battle of Shiloh was one of the important battles of the civil war. This was the first battle that General Ulysses S. Grant looked over and led. There were 24,000 deathes. This battle was important because during it Grant showed potential, which led to him leading Union forces.

    The Battle of Gettysburg was the bloodiest battle of the civil war. It lasted 3 days and the union won. The confederate leader, Robert E. lee, led the attack, but failed to maintain the tactical advantage in teh battle.This battle was very important because it took a lot of lives and was a turning point for the union.

    Only five days after the confederate leader Robert E. Lee, had surrendered Abraham Lincoln was sat in Ford's Theater watching a play when an assassin by the name of John Wilkes Booth jumped out yellin "Freedom!" and shot Lincoln in the back of the head. Lincoln died soon after . This event was important because it left the country in teh nhands of Andrew Jackson.
