Muhammad was born in 570 in Mecca. He was the only son Abd Allah. Abd Allah died before Muhammad's birth, and then he was raised by his mother Amina.

When Muhammand was 5 or 6 his mother took hin to Yathrib. On the returning journey his mother died. He was placed with his grandfather Abdul.

In 610 Muhammad made trips to a mountain cave outside town.There he meditated and it was several years before he told anyone outside his family.

Muhammad started revealing the messages he was getting. In the next decade the tribe was critizied and physically attacked.Muhammad's wife and uncle died and Muhammad was planed to ba assasinated.

Three battles started;the muslims won the first called Badr.

The 2nd battle which the mulims lost was was called the Battle of Uhud.

They outlasted the third battle called Trench and the siege of Medina.

Muhammad lived in Medina again and lived there. He went to Mecca for a last time to do a pilgrimage, then went back to Medina.He died there after illness. His teaching went as far as Indo-China and Spain.

In 575 Muhammad's grandfather died and he was now taken care of by his uncle Abu.

When Muhammad was a young boy he worked as a shepherd. He travled with his uncle who was a merchant.He was said to travel as far as Syria one of his trips.

Muhammad was wed to Khadija a lady he carried goods for.They had 6 children but 2 boys died;leaving them with 4 daughters.

A treaty was finally signed which gave mulims freedom to move through Arabia.
