The First Computer
The first computer was made in 1939 by William Hewlett and David Packard. They made this computer in California in a garage. The first product they ever made was called the HP 2000A Audio Ocillator. This product soon became a test expierment for Engineers. -
First Practical Stored Program Computer
The first stored program computer was made by Maurice Wilkes. For short, it was called the EDSAC. This was created in the Cambridge Univeresity and his ideas came from Moore School that he attended three years earlier. -
The First Commercially produced computer
The first commercially produced computer was called the ERA 1101 and it was built by the Enigneering Research Associates of Minneapolis. Their first customer was the U.S. Navy. It was the earliest magnetic storage device. -
IAS Computer
In 1952, John Von Neumann's computer became operational at the Institute of the Advance Studies. This was from the college Princeton. This invention made other people express their ideas for research. -
The First Printer
In 1953, a high speen printer was invented. This was created by Remington - Rand and it was in use for a computer. It was to get things off the computer and onto a peice of paper. -
First Mass-Produced Computer
The IBM 650 magnetic drum calculator made the first mass-produced computer. IBM was selling over 450 a year. Spinning at 12,500 rpm, this computer made it faster to reach saved material. -
The First Microsoft Computer
In 1975 Bill Gates and Paul Allen formed a partnership and they called it Microsoft. At first, Microsoft began small, but eventually it became a bigger company. Soon Microsoft began to change technology all together. -
The First Apple Computer
On April Fools Day Steve Jobs and Steve Wozinak made the first apple computer. There first computer was called Apple 1 and then they started apple computers. The Apple 1 was the first to have a single circuit board that was used in a computer. -
First Portable Computer
The first portable computer was made by Adam Osborne. He created this is 1981 and called it the Osborne 1. This portable computer only weighed 24 pounds and cost over 1000 dollars. The Osborne 1 was finally in an article in April and they said it was very impressive. -
The First Invention of the Mouse
The first mouse was created by Douglas Engelbart. He created a mouse to use to move a curser around on a computer screen. The first computer to ever use it was called Xerox 8010 Star Information system and this was in 1981. Later on, he licenced it to the company Appe for about 40,000 dollars, -
