Joliet Junior Collge: The nation's first Community College
J.Stanley Brown, superintendent of the Joliet Township High School, and the William Rainy Harper, president of the University of Chicago, founded JJC in 1901 as an experimental high school program. -
Phoenix Collge Opened
Daniel Jantzen, Phoenix Union High School Principal, B.F.McFall, a member of the PUHSD of Education , and W.W.Carpenter, a chemistry teacher consulted with the University of Arizona and designed a two-year college. Phoenix Junior Collge opened its dorrs. -
1921 Student Government Established
In the Fall of 1921, a group of students formed a stident governemnt at Phoenix College. -
First Football Team
The first footbal team was formed. The original colors were blue and orange. -
Student Newspaper Established
Consisting of two pages, the foirst student newspaper was established. -
First Classrooms
Fillmore and Seventh street held the first classes in "cottonwood court". -
The Bear Mascot was created
The bear mascot was created in 1931. -
New Campus Built
By the Fall of 1939 students attended classes at the new campus on 15th ave & Thomas. -
First Evening Classes offered
First evening classes were offred to students at Phoenix College 1944-45. -

The Mobile Application for students, MyPC was selescted as the district wide winner.
