The First Appearance of Tacos in the United States
Tacos made their first appearance in the United States in a newspaper in 1905. The publicity that the tacos got was thanks to the Chili Queens of San Antonio. The Chili Queens were a group of women who made traditional mexican dishes at the American festivals. Since Mexico was considered dangerous territory the Americans, the Americans went to the Chili Queens to still taste mexican food and mexican culture. -

Tacos, once bound in Mexico, are found all over the world today, especially in America. There are hundreds of thousands of Mexican restaurants in American and thousands of fast food Mexican restaurants. Restaurants such as Moe's Southwest Grill, Chipotle Mexican Grill, Del Taco, and Qdoba are amongst America's largest fast food taco chains. The largest fast food taco chain in America is Taco Bell. Taco Bell was founded in 1962.
