The Florida Virtual School, which was created in 1997, has by 2012 online instruction for 150,000 students. This model is eventually adopted by almost every state. -
Massive Open Online Courses
Podcasts debuted in 2007. Shortly afterwards Massive Open Online Courses began. In 2011 they begin on the Stanford Campus. In 2012 they began at Harvard and MIT. In 2013 they began at San Jose State. By 2013, 79% of Instructors supported MOOCs. -
The Impact of Covid-19
As the result of the Pandemic known as Covid-19 and the closure of all schools , Remote or Distance Learning becomes dominant by 2020. -
Blended Learning
As students, Instructors, and Administrators transitioned back into the schools, the Blended Model which is a combination of Remote Instruction and Face to Face Instruction became dominant in 2021. -
Online Learning and the Future
As of 2022 Online Learning continues with as many as 79% of Higher Education students preferring Online Learning. In the future , Artificial Learning, Virtual Reality, and Learning Management Systems are trends.
