The First Crusades
The First Crusades were lead by Pope Urban II in an attempt to recapture the Holy Land (Jerusalem) back from the Muslims and Jews. While many of the attempts didn't work, the Siege of Jerusalem showed that the Crusaders were victorious. The first Crusade ended in 1099. -

The Second Crusade
The Second Crusades went on from 1147 and until 1149. The main cause of the Second Crusades was that the Turks captured the city of Edessa. The second crusades were led by Pope Eugene III. -

The Third Crusades
The Third Crusades happened during 1189 and lasted until 1192. They took place in Levant and Anatolia. This was the third attempt to retake the Holy Land, this time from Saladin. -

The Fourth Crusade
The Fourth Crusade was led by Pope Innocent III. It went from 1202 and lasted until 1204. This was an attempt to retake Jerusalem from the Muslims. This was done by going through Egypt. -

The Fifth Crusade
An attempt to regain power over Jerusalem as the Holy City from the Muslims. However, the Crusaders also had to conquer the state of Ayyubid in Egypt. -
Jan 1, 1228
The Sixth Crusade
The Sixth Crusade went on from 1228 and ended in 1229. The result of this Crusade was that the Diplomatic Crusaders saw victory. -
Jan 1, 1248
The Seventh Crusade
The Seventh Crusade was led by Louis IX. It went on from 1248 and ended in 1254. In this crusade, Muslims saw victory. -
Jan 1, 1270
The Eighth Crusade
This crusade was led by Louis IX of France. It was an attack on the city of Tunis. By the end of this crusade, Louis IX died and the treaty of Tunis was introduced.
