A man by the name of Herman Hollerith designs a punch card system to calulate the 1880 census. He then later starts the company IBM. -
Memory
Atanasoff is able to make a computer able to store information on it's main memory. -
The Grandfather to the Digital Computer
During this time period ENIAC is made and devloped. It take 18,000 vaccum tubes to be made and used. Can only be on for 1-hour and work before the vaccum tubes break. -
UNIVAC
UNIVAC is made during this time and is the first time the public gets to use this technology and work with it. -
The First Programming Language
Grace Hopper develops the first computer language, which eventually becomes known as COBOL -
FORTRAN
The FORTRAN programming language is born. -
Computer Chip
Jack Kilby and Robert Noyce make the first integrated circuit, known as the computer chip. -
First Mouse and GUI
Douglas Engelbart shows a prototype of the modern computer, with a mouse and a graphical user interface. He doesn't produce it but others will. -
Personal Computer
The first personal computers hit the shelves for the public to use at home and work on at home. Some of the computers were the Scelbi Mark-8 Altair and IBM 5100. -
Apple on the Rise
Jobs and Wozniak make Apple and show the Apple II at the first West Coast Computer Faire. It offers color graphics and an audio cassette drive for storage. -
Wi-Fi
Wi-Fi is invented during this time and si able to change many things. Wi-Fi was able to make computers wirless and able to get signal from internet hot spots -
Apple iPhone
This makes a huge step forward by puting many parts of a computer into a machine. It was able to do many thing and is going to grow in just a few years. -

The latest in technology, this new device is able to compute twice as fast as the iPhone 5. This is the latese in tecnology witht the highest phone processor in a phone
