    He is a conquistador. He sailed from Spanish Cuba to the eastern coast of Mexico. He wanted to conquer the Aztecs. He did conquer the Aztecs. He thought them because they had land, gold, silver, and gems . Cortez sank his ships so his soldiers could not retreat . He wanted gold and glory.

    He was a Spanish explorer. He set sail with a fleet from Jamaica to the Gulf of Mexico. He'd been sent to explore the land between Florida and Mexico. His settlers were killed by Indians. He was the first to map the Gulf of Mexico. Spanish controlled Florida and Mexico. He went back to get supplies.

In 1527 he was sent by Spain's king to explore Florida and Cabeza de Vaca was the expeditions treasurer. In 1540 he was the adelantado of the Rio de la Plata in South America. He was in the Narvis expedition.

    He was the conquistador. He was 30 years old. He commanded a force. He was Spanish. He wanted to find the seven cities of gold. His expedition was from Mexico to Kansas. Is was between 1540 to 1542. He was one of the first known Europeans to see the Grand Canyon in the Colorado River.

    He founded the colony of New Mexico. He left Mexico with his wife and children January of 1598. He was a conquistador . He was Spanish. He was an explorer. He encountered many Indian tribes. In 1595 he was granted a request by King Philip to colonize new Spain.
