Research - The internet
The internet was a very crucial and important technology that I used from the start of this project til the very end. It allowed me to find information that I needed (for example theories such as Godwins and Mulveys. Allowed me to find what target audience my artist would have and more. It allowed me to more importanlty post my work to blogger.) The internet for me was very easy to use as I already use it in my everyday life. -

Technology used in Research/Planning/Production of Music video
This is a timeline of the different technologies that I used. What I used them for and whether they were useful or not (their disadvanatges and advantages) -
Research - Blogger
Blogger is the main technology that I used through out this project. As I had already used it in the previous year it was very easy to use. I used blogger to not only present all my work throughout all stages but also a different platform to promote my artist which was very important. -
Research - Prezi
At the start of the year I began using prezi frequently as it was something that I was already very familiar with how to use it and what I could use it for. This didnt show much development in my skills as it did not challenge me. I used prezi less and less throughout however it is very useful for presenting work in a simple way that still lets you freely browse through the prezi rather than a power point that has a fixed way that you can view it. -
Research - Slid.es
Slid.es is another techonology that I was already familiar using. It was a very simple way for me to present work at the beginning of the year, it would allow me to present information in a very clear and concise way. -
Research - Moovly
Moovly is a technology that allows you to create animated videos. This was something I had never used before. Although it took a bit of getting use to, once you knew what you were doing it was a new interesting way to present your work. I felt as though this was a devlopment in my skills as I had now started using different way to present my work instead of playing safe with old methods. -
Planning - Murally
Murally was one of my favourite technologies to use. Eventhough it was not entirely new to me, it took me a while to completely understand it. However once I did I really loved the way I could create a collage which would allow the viewer to freely view it. I used this as part of my Pitch for my groups and my music video. -
Planning - TimeToast
Timetoast is a technology I was very use to using. I used this to illistrate the production schedule for the pitch. I feel as though it is a very easy technology to use. It allowed the group to present the production schedule in a professional and clear way. I feel as though knowing how to use all of these technologies shows the development in my skills through out the years not only throughout this project. -
Planning - Powtoon
Powtoon was a technology I had never use.d. I feel as though this was one of the more challenging technologies that I used as part of my research and planning stages. However, I do feel as though it was a better way of presenting, it was very interesting and fun. I would not use Powtoon frequently however as it is very time consuming and sometimes can look too childish. -
Planning - Mindmeister
Mindmeister was yet again another technology that I had never used before, This technology was very simple to use, i enjoyed the end product as it was very professional and it was a clear way to present my work (in this case part of the pitch for the music video) I would use this technology again as it was simple but affective. I feel as though this showed growth in the type of technologies I was using as I began to steer away from using the usual technologies such as prezi. -
Planning - Final Cut Pro
In planning I used final cut pro very briefly to help create a storyboard anamatic. This did not require too much skill or time. It was very easy to help create as I already had experience with final cut pro from last year. -
Production - IMovie
This was one of my favourite technologies. I used this in order to create a mini video of the groups evidence from filming. I added music, text, pictures and videos. I then created them into a short video. I think this was a very creative way of presenting the evidence from filming instead of just posting things seperatly. This was a technology that I had never used before however I got the hang of it quite quickly. This was a major development of the use of technology in the production stage. -
Production - Twitter/Instagram/Facebook
Social media was something that was used throughout in order to keep teachers and fans updated on what we where doing and where we were. These were apps that everyone in my group including myself were very familiar with so it was quite easy to use them. -
Production - Canon EOS 700D
Luckily me and my group were able to use our own camera in order to shot our music video. This developed my skills as I learnt how to use a different camera and how to work it properly. In comparision to last year I was much more involved in the filming process. I felt as though the quality of this camera was really good and clear. I enjoyed using it. The memory card we used for this camera was a 32GB memory card. -
Production - Final cut Pro
After my group and I had completed all of our filming we then had to use final cut pro inorder to make our video. This year there were many new special effects I used that I didnt even know existed before ( we used the earthquake effect, timeplapse, slowmotion, changing the quality of the shots) Just to name a few. I feel as though my skills developed in a major way this year as effects were allowed to be more obvious in a music video. -
Production - Soundcloud
Soundcloud was a very effective way to post up recordings of me answering questions. However it would always be used for questions such as progress reflection or skills development as they would also be an account of where I though I was at. I had already used soundcloud before so it was a very simple way to be able to Blog my recordings. -
Production - ABC Notes
This technology was very easy to use and very efficient. I was able to download an app on my Iphone that allowed me to create notes and the allowed me to post them on the blog. I used this to make notes on evaluation questions. Although I had not used this before it was very simple to use and very easy to use. It is an app I would use again as it was not time consuming and presented my ideas in a very clear way. -
Production - Iphone
My iphone was a technology that was very useful in many parts. I was able to record evidence during filming, More importantly I was able to record audience feedback quickly and efficiently. It saved me a lot of time. However if videos where too long then they would have to be put through handbrake or youtube to make sure I was able to post them on blogger. -
Production - Handbrake
Handbrake was an essentially technology in the production process. It was used to post many audience feedback videos onto the blog and to convert the actualy music video. Although using handbrake was fairly simple as I had already become familiar using it last year. It was very time consuming, however due to the fact using it was unaviodable the time issue was not a big deal. -
Production - Youtube
Youtube was not only used in production it was used through out, It allowed me to post videos to make sure I was able to put them on my blog. Youtube allowed me to view previous music videos so that I was able to gain insperation and knowledge on how a music video should be. Youtube was a technology which was frequently used through out my project. It was also a technology I had already used so I did not find difficult to use. -
Production - Emaze
Emaze is a technology which allows you to make an interactive presentation. I used this a few times. However as I had never used this before it was quite new to me but still very easy to use. I used this to present work such as improvement that we may be expected to make. It had many advantaged. It looked very proffesional. It is a technology that I would frequently use. -
Production - Note.ly
This was another simple note making technology. It was very similar to ABC notes however I used this on my laptop. For that reason I would probably steer away from using it as its not as convenient as ABC notes. However trying new technologies is part of developing your skills. -
Research - Camtasia
I used camtasia during the research process in order to make a video comparing previous digipaks and advertisements. This helped me understand what was expected from my ancillary texts. Camtasia was a technology which I had already used previously, so it was quite simple to use. I love the end product when using camtasia so this is a technology that I would use again. -

ThingLink
Thinglink was a new technology that we were introduced to. I became a fan of thinglink quite quickly as it allows you to post your work in a very professional manner that also allows you to annotate collages and images. Also allows you to add other images. I used this on many occasions to show where my ideaas for my ancillary texts came from. To illustrate my short list of fonts, layouts, colours and so on. This is something I will frequently use as it is a interesting way to present your work. -
Flickr
Flickr was a very professional way of presenting photos on my blog. Posting 4 or more photos on the blog started to look quite unprofessional. By using flickr it allowed every photo to be on a slide show. This was very important during the production of my ancillary products as I constantly needed to post images of the ancillary texts in production. As well as the texts themselves. -
The internet !
The internet was yet again my bestfriend when researching and planning my ancillary texts. I was able to look at previous work online to see what kind of criteria my ancillary texts would need to fit into. -
PHOTOSHOP
Photoshop was the most important technology when creating my ancillary texts. I was not very familiar with photoshop when I first started using it as I had not used it for a very long time. However I quickly adapted. I learnt how to duplicate and fade images, how to free transform images, I learnt how to correct the colour of images to make them how you want. Photoshop is a very useful and important technology in the porocess of my ancilary texts.
