    Throughout high school, I saved my work on floppy disks and diskettes.
  • E-Mail

    I was first introduced to e-mail in AP English class in high school. It was a privilege and the coolest thing at the time in class.
  • Overhead Projector

    In high school, I created transparencies and used the overhead projector to deliver presentations. A sharpie or erasable pen was used to annotate remarks.
  • VCR

    Teachers used the videocassette recorder (VCR) to students movies for discussion. They were VHS cassettes.
  • MS Excel 1995

    I was introduced to MS Excel in a fish ecology class in college where it was required to gather data and calculate certain mathematical functions.
  • MS PowerPoint 1997

    I used MS PowerPoint throughout college to make and deliver presentations. I don't think I had to use transparencies or overhead projectors like I did in high school.
  • Memory Sticks

    Beginning about junior year in college or so, the floppy disks were phasing out and I started to save my work on memory sticks.

    I was introduced to Second Life in a graduate online class. Second Life is a virtual learning environment (VLE) using avatars and settings which allow the teacher and students to interact.

    I used Audacity to make voice recordings and embed them into digital videos. This freeware allows you to make voice recordings and even add music to your narrations.
  • MS Movie Maker

    MS Movie Maker
    I was introduced to and started using MS Movie Maker to make short digital videos for an online class.
