Hand Written Letters
I remember the wrting letters to people with a pen. I think this is still a forgetten art. I love getting handwritten letters. -
Landlines- Home phone
Talking to my Gramdma, who was all the way across the world, was very exciting. I remember talking to my friends for long periods of time on my home phone. -
Email
Having my first email account was the greatest thing when I was ten. I could talk to my friends and family that lived all over the world and send pictures! I also remember getting all those chain letters from my friends. -
MSN - Instant Messaging on the Computer
Getting on the computer and onto MSN after school seemed so important. All my friends would be on at the same time. It was like the early version of text messaging. I also remember that I thought my email acocunt wouldn't let me get on until I was 13, so it was a big deal. -
MySpace
Like Facebook now, I could post pictures and text about anything. I could also talk to my friends on there. I could do all that in one place, I thought it was pretty great. -
Facebook
At the time this was the new big thing and everyone got one. It is like a MySpace, but it had a lot more things as well and easier to use. -
Twitter
Twitter is a lot like Facebook, just simpler. Not many people had one when I got an account, but it seemed fun. I was also able to see what other people doing. -
Cellphone
I didn't get my first cell phone until I was in high school, but I thought it was pretty fancy. My dad had one and it was pretty great. I could get on the internet, play games, send texts and pictures, and call people. All on one device. -
Pinterest
Posting picture and creating boards seemed like a fun idea when Pinterest first came out. I could show other people what I liked and see what others like as well. I don't use it much anymore, but it does come in handy when I need ideas or a recipe. -
Instagram
This is probably my favorite form of keeping up to date with my friends and others. It's just an application that is on most portable devices, but it shows where others and it a place that shows creativity as well.
