ENIAC the first computer

1945

ENIAC was created in 1945. It took 3 years to finish building what is considered the first computer. The design was created by John Mauchly and J. Presper Eckert. It was used to help the military with artillery firing tables

The first computer created by Eckert and Mauchly. It took 3 years to finish building. It is considered the first computer because it is programmable, electronic, and able to solve problems.

Intel creates the first microprocessor

1971

The intel 4004 was the first microprocessor. This significantly improved modern computers by making them smaller. This acheivement was the result of the collaboration of Federico Faggin, Marcian Hoff, and Masatoshi Shima.

Portable Computers Osborne 1

1973

Adam Osborne and Lee Felsenstein create the first portable computer. Technically portable, but about the size of a sewing machine. This led to the pioneering of modern mobile technology.

Apple is founded

1976

Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak launch Apple. They create the first apple computer. This computer is significant because it is the first single circuit board computer made.

Google

1996

Sergey Brin and Larry Page launch Google. This search engine would go on to become a dominant force in technology. Google was the not first search engine, but has gained the most popularity and usage.
