  • IBM 9345 hard disk drive

    The IBM 9345 hard disk drive invented by Reynold B. Johnson
    was the first hard disk drive to use magneto-resistive heads. The early models could hold 1 gb HDAs.
  • SSD Module

    Manufactured by Sandisk (named as Sundisk at the time) the SSD module used non-volatile memory and was made to replace spinning disks. The most important feature was that it was lighter than hard drive disks.
  • IBM ThinkPad 700c Version Laptop

    Invented by Arimasa Naitoh, this was the first slim laptop that did most of the function of a computer but in a more portable package. Mainly used in offices and its versality helped employees to work in various environments. This innovation was the start of the journey of better portable laptops.
  • Digital Video Disc (DVD)

    Made popular by Sony and Philips, DVDs had a bigger storage than Compact Discs (CD). They were highly used by the film industry. It had better audio, video quality and longer life span.
  • Palm Pilot (handheld computer)

    Invented by Jeff Hawkins the purpose of the Palm Pilot was to view documents, manage contacts and you could even take notes. It was mostly intended to be an accessory of a computer and not to replace it.
