Thousands of Years Ago
When we look at learning thousands of years ago we start with hunters and gathers' children and how they learned from playing and exploring. Learning through play and not knowing it, doing it willingly. -
8000 BCE
The start of Agriculture
Hunters and Gathers went from a nomadic lifestyle to more stable lifestyle and started farming. Since they were becoming farmers the children started helping with the farm and not just playing and exploring. They took the first step to not having a real freedom on what to learn. -

Middle ages and learning
During the Middle Ages children were starting to be forced to help and do things for the Lords and Masters instead of that freedom of play. The Lords and Masters had no problem using and abusing children to get what they wanted. -

Start of the 16th Century
Industry was growing and was progressing quickly, which meant changes for children. Children weren't needed in the factories as much and soon the idea followed that learning was a child's thing, and that they learning. Although they didn't say what but they didn't want curriculum per say more like those real world qualities that would make them a better workers. -
Conventional School- 19th to 20th Centuries
Chapter one stated, "In the classroom, play was the enemy of learning.". Crazy how true this statement is. The curriculum was started and punishment was changing but the learning aspect hasn't changed even into the 20th century. Some kids come to school because they have to not because they want to. -
1980s- Apple and Computers
Apple saw the need and wanted to make so that computers would be impacting students. Computers went into schools in the 1980s. Apple then decided that they should gather some data and see if the computers were helping and how. -
THE INTERNET!!!!
The internet changed everything and every where. People were able to connect more and connections were better. Their world just got HUGE and the students didn't even know it was coming.
