  • Where it begins

    When I was born
  • Yongest child

Since I am the second child (the yongest) I really didnt talk much at all my brother would translate for me. I would just point and make gesters I was very behind when it came to my speech
  • Starting school

starting in preschool it was evident that I had issues with my speech so I started going to speech theirapy untill 2nd grade.
  • IEP

When I was in second grade I was put into public school and that is when I was diagnosed with learning disabilites and was given an IEP. I still use help with disabilities to this day. This point was really a turning point for me becuase it helped me cope with my learning disablites and learn how to work with them to succeed.
  • Working hard at home

After being diagnosed with an IEP I had to work 10 times harder then my classmates to keep up. So that ment not only getting help and working hard at school that ment a lot of at home work. Since both my parents we had found out have undiagnosed learning disabilities they needed to work extra hard to help me to catch up. The asked for help and tried their best to keep me working on it at home. My brother how ever was ever advanced and everything came easy to him so a lot of times he had to help
  • Spelling and reading in the classroom

Spelling tests, spelling bee's, the game sparkle, reading outloud, reading test where the worst because of my learning disabilites I have always struggled with spelling and reading and these tasks just made it very noticable that I struggled. Expetialy having to read and spell out loud becasue them my classmates knew and I just felt horible. So my teachers tried to exuse me from as much as they could so I didnt feel that way.
  • Speech team

I started speech team in 7th grade because it seamed like fun. Not only was it fun it really did help me work on speeking not only infront of peers but infront of a group of people which has lattered helped me in so much in life, such as interview skills, public speeking, how to present my self, and much more.
  • Expository writing

I took a expository writing class my juinor year of high school and it really helped me imensly on my writing skills. It tought me how to write a research paper the correct way and many other papers. It tought me a lot of writing technical skills. The teacher was amazing and trully was pationate about what he tought. By the end of the class I wrote and presented a 30 page paper on how music helps children with their education.
  • College

moving on to college was a completly different ball game. Yes i still resive help from disabilities but its a completly different way of learning then high school and grade school. I had to truely seek out help from disabilites all on my one and had to constently press and find out how to resive help and having to let professors know. I really had to work 10 times harder then others in high school but in college its like 100 times harder then others. But I am determained to make it work.
