Vladek and Anja create bunkers to hide the grandparets but are soon forced to send them away by Germans -
Vladek's selection
Vladek and Anjas family go through selection. The ones who are weak are left to die while the others are kept alive. -
Vladek escapes German soldiers
Late in 1941, Vladek escapes from being killed from Germans invading streets. He escapes to his friend who keeps him safe. -

Two ghettos are created in Sighet and Wiesel and his family are sent to the first ghetto. -
Wiseel and his fathe are sent to Birkenau
They are placed in a crowded train and upon arrival, they enter Birkenau -

The first edict is passed that prohibits Jews from leaving leaving their residences for three days. The punishment was death. -
