Javits Act
Money that supported research and demonstration programs for gifted children that were either poor or culturally or linguistically diverse, or disabled. -
Americans with Disabilities Act of 1992
This made sure all people with disabilities were given civil rights and that no one could be discriminated against solely because of a disability. -
No Child Left Behind Act of 2001
Legislation that intended to hold educators and schools accountable for ensuring students reach a minimum level of competency. However, some children will never reach these standards and because of this the school could be punished and have funds removed. -
IDEA 2004
Reathorization of original legislation of Education for All Handicapped Children Act but made changes to improve quality of personnel , IEP standards, and transition planning. -
American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009
A one time allotment of a large amount of funds given to the States through IDEA to improve the quality of early intervention for children birth to 5 years old.
