Cortes voyage
Cortes conquered Aztec empire in Mexico. This is important because parts of Mexico and Spain would not be the same. Everything would be different including America and other parts because it effects everything. -

Columbus’ first voyage
Columbus was looking for a faster way to India because all the spices were there. Columbus actualy found the Bahamas but, he was looking for India. If he did not find the Bahamas the indians would not be called that because he thought it was India. Also America would be a lot different today without him. -

Pineda’s voyage
Pineda had a Spanish expedition that sailed along the Gulf of Mexico coastline from Florida to Cabo Rojo. In Mexico,1519. He and his men were the first Europeans to explore and map the Gulf between the areas previously explored by Juan Ponce De León and Diego Velázquez. This is important because most of are land would not be explored for a long time and some parts wouln't be as advanced as others. -

DeVaca discovers Texas
They were looking for gold and they were going to Florida. When they got there they got stranded and they were there for 8 years. When they were there they meet 3 tribes Karankwa, Couhiltecans, and Jumano. -

Fray Marcos and Esteban Journey
The whole pupose of the journey was to study the land and evaluate North Texas. Estaban got killed by the Zunis because he came in and demanded women. Fray Marcos reported beautiful city filled with gold. -

Desota was the leader and he died. They discovered the Mississippi River and explored part of Texas. -

Coronado's Expedition
Coronado seached for the cities Cibola and Quivera and is guide was Turk. Turk had to dig his own grave and he got strangeled to death. He discovered Palo Duro Canyon and The Grand Canyon. The mission was important because exploration stoped in Texas and for 150 year no one explored.
