The Next Day to the Genocide
Hutu extemists began killing thier polital enemies. Among the first victims of the genocide were the moderate Hutu Prime Minister Agathe Uwilingiyimana and her 10 Belgian bodyguards, were killed on this day. -
The Massacre at Gikondo
In the Pallottine Missionary Catholic Church, hundreds of Tutsis were killed by killers. This massacre was the fist sign of the Rwanda Genocide occuring, because the killers were only targeting the Tutsis. -
Massacre at Nyarubuye Roman Catholic Church
Thousands of Tutsis were massacred in the Roman Catholic Church first by grenades and guns then the killers just became violent and dirty and started killing them with machetes and clubs. -
Kibuye Massacres
About 12,000 Tutsis are massacred at the Gatwaro stadium in Gitesi. 50,000 more were killed in the hills of Bisesero. Many more Tutsis were killed in the town's hospital and church. -
Fleeing Tutsis
Approximately 250,000 people, mostly Tutsis fled to neighboring Tanzania. -
RPF
The RPF (Rwandese Patriotic Front) , consisting mostly of Tutsi refugees, take control of the presidential palace. -
Safe Zone
The french establish a safe zone in the southwest corner of Rwanda. -
Hutu Flee
The RPF have gained most of the country. More than two million people, mostly Hutu flee from Rwanda into refugee camps in Zaire (now is known as The Democratic Republic of the Congo) and other neighboring countries. -
Genocide Ends
The Rwanda Genocide ends when the RPF gain complete control oer the country.
