Romeo and Juliet meet in Capulet’s Orchard. They learn of each other’s identity but decide to marry despite their loyalties to their respective families. -
Monday Morning - Romeo visits Friar Lawrence
Friar Lawrence agrees to marry Romeo and Juliet, but only in an effort to end the Capulet-Montague feud. -
Monday Early Afternoon - Romeo and Juliet are married
Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet are married by Friar Laurence. The Nurse helps Romeo by allowing him to gain entry to Juliet’s bedroom later that night. -
Monday Late Afternoon - Another Fight
After Romeo refuses to fight Tybalt in a challenge, Mercutio is killed by Tybalt. -
Monday Early Evening - Romeo takes revenge
Romeo avenges the death of Mercutio by killing Tybalt. -

The Prince of Verona banishes Romeo. Unaware of Romeo and Juliet’s marriage, Capulet arranges for Juliet to marry Paris on Thursday -
Tuesday Dawn - Romeo leaves the Capulet household
After spending the night together, Romeo has to leave Juliet’s home to avoid being killed. -
Tuesday Morning - Juliet's Decision
Juliet denies her father, refusing to marry Paris. Juliet decides she will commit suicide before ending her relationship with Romeo. -
Tuesday Afternoon - The Friair's Plan
Friar Laurence advises Juliet fake her death – This will prevent her from marrying Paris, then she would shortly be able to go to Romeo. Knowing this, Juliet "agrees" to marry Paris. Capulet becomes very excited and moves the wedding forward to Wednesday, one day earlier than originally planned. -
Tuesday Night - The Plan is put into action
Juliet fakes her death using the Friar’s potion. -
Wednesday Morning - Juliet is believed to be dead
The Nurse discovers the apparently dead Juliet. The plans for the wedding are changed to a funeral. -
Wednesday - Romeo believes Juliet is dead
Romeo learns of Juliet's death and because he was not informed of the Friar's plan, Romeo plans to commit suicide. -
Thursday Evening - Romeo enters the Capulet Tomb
Romeo looks at Juliet’s body. He is discovered by Paris, which results in a fight and Paris’s death. Romeo then takes the poison, just as Juliet awakes. Romeo dies and Juliet stabs herself to death. -
Thursday Evening - The play concludes
The story concludes as the Montagues and Capulets end their feud.
