End of the French and Indian War
French and Indian War French and indian warToday the French and Indian War is over. The Britain’s declared war on France, Britain suffered an early defeat in the beginning but the battle was turned around in the battle of Quebec, it was a huge loss for France. We thought that the end of the war was going to improve our lives but being a colonist I am being charged taxes for Britain’s debt. -
The Proclomation of 1763
Today the Britain’s passed the proclamation of 1763. It bans all of us from settling west of the Appalachian Mountains. I plan on ignoring as I believe many others will. I think it will be impossible for the British to enforce. I am furious; I believe that we should have the right to live where we please. -
Sugar Act
Sugar Act Today the King passed the Sugar Act. The Sugar Act is when the king puts taxes on sugar and molasses and other things. If you smuggled good onto a ship you will suffer harsh punishments. James Otis has come up with a phrase "Taxation Without representation is Tyranny". As a result us colonists will boycott British goods and sign a petition. -
Quartering Act
Quartering actToday the king passed yet another law; it’s called the Quartering Act. The Quartering Act says we colonists have to house and feed British soldiers. We feel our rights as colonists are being violated. Some of us are refusing to let soldiers stay in our homes. -
Stamp act
Yesterday ANOTHER act was passed the stamp act. This act requires us to house and feed British soldiers. This is an outrage they are violating are rights as English citizens. Some of the citizens are refusing to let soldiers stay. -
Townshend Act
Today things are beginning to get out of hand. Another act has been passed and we being the colonist are downright furious. The British say the wont tax are goods any more but there taxing are imports so these are still tax one way or another. So rights are still being violated. The British customs can search ships now with no reasons according to the Writs of Assistance. In reaction to this act colonist are smuggling goods and now there are reduced goods being shipped to us. -
Boston Massacre
boston massacreToday a terrible fight broke out on King Street. A mob of Colonists were being shot at by British Troops. Crispus Attucks, a slave was the first one to die, so I've heard. Paul Revere was created an engraving to show what happened on this horrifying day. -
Tea Act
Today the King has passed an act for our tea. It states that the tea must be imported directly from England's British East India Company. The tea is still taxed three pence a pound!! This gives the Britian a tea monopoly and puts all colony tea merchants out of business. This is not fair! -
Boston Tea Party
Today late at night 116 colonists participated in the destruction of tea on English ships. They were dressed as Mohawk Indians and destroyed 10,000 pounds of tea; this was equal to 342 containers of tea they threw over board. The Britain’s can finally get what they deserve. -
Coercive/Intolerable Acts
Today an act called the Coercive acts was passed, but the colonists call it the Intolerable Acts because we can't take it anymore. They are closing the Port of Boston until all the tea is paid for. This is a lot of money and we refuse to pay! Now our trials will be held in England and our town meetings are repealed, and the Quartering Acts are strengthening. -
The First Continental Congress
Today The First Continental Congress was held. All of the greatest men of our time attended. They talked about what we should do about the Intolerable Acts. All of the colonies were represented expect Georgia. When the men came to an agreement they decided to demand a repeal of the Intolerable Acts, train militias, and organize boycotts. They will meet again in May 1775. -
Paul Revere's Ride
Today a man named Paul Revere and two other men named Williams Dawes and Dr. Samuel Prescott road the streets to warn the people that the British Regulars were coming. The only one of those men who made it Concord was Dr. Samuel Prescott; the others were captured and forced of their route. -
Lexington and Concord
Today British troops headed Concord to seize munitions. But our seventy-seven minute men were waiting for them. The soldiers fired once they got over the bridge in confusion. Eight of are men died and nine were injured. It was the first time it was solider vs. solider and is the start of something big that is traveling around the world. It is the shot heard around the world.
