The Stamp Act
The Stamp Act was a direct taxing imposed by the British Parliment specifaclly to the colonies. It was also known as "Duties in American Colonies Act 1765" Shorter, "The Stamp Act".
Everything that needed tax, was the paper. But money was not included for that . Money was the only exceptation for not getting stamped. The purpose for tax was to help the troops, out fighting for us. All the tx would go to them, & we'd help support them for anything they need. -
The Quarter Act
The Quarter Act is the name of the least of two 18th century of Parliment of Great Britian. American Colonies, ordered by the government, had to provide the needs of soldiers. That included housing, & provisions. This later on became a source of teension between the 13 colonies, along with the government in England. -
The Boston Massacre
This night, March 5, 1770, was known as "The Boston Massacre".
It was known as this because on that night, 5 colonists were killed. The Red Coats escalated it & put out their arms when the angered colonists threw tomatoes at them. This occured at Province of ''Massachusetts Bay''. 3 were killed, 2 were injured, but then died later. -
The Boston Tea Party
The Boston Tea Party was referred to "Destriction of the Tea". This was a politicanal protest by "The Sons of Liberty". After Boston refused to return 3 ships worth of tea, colonists dressed up as Natives & poured all the tea aboarded on the ship into the "Boston Harbor". -
Intolerable Acts
This was a series of laws passed by the British Parliment. Four of these acts was a response to Boston Tea Party. This was an important development for the American Revolution. This created outrage, & temptation for the 13 colonies to becomne apart of the United States. -
Minute Men
Minutemen were selective americans from "Colonial Partisan Militia". Minutemen were one of the firsts to start in the war. The team was about a quarter of militia. 700 British soldiers met a group of minute men in the battles of Lexington and Concord . -
Common Sense
Thomas Paine published the best selling book called Common Sense. It was publsihed anonymosly on January 10, 1776. Common Sense was signed by "English Men" & became a huge sucess. He made this pamphlet for the independence -
Decalaration of Independence
The Declearation of Independence was signed by the Congress on July 4, 1776. This is a break up letter, all the coloines will move away, & be free. They went to war with "Great Britian" & fought for their freedom.
