purpose- Appalachian Mts. as a tempoty western boundry of the colonies. outcome- Angered thoes who owned share in land compaines, -
sugar act
purpose- lowered the tax on imported molasses, let officers seize goods that might have been smaggled. outcome- Hoped to convense colonists from smuggling, belived that this interfered with their rigths. -
stamp act
puropse- Placed taxes on all printed materials such as newspapers, wills, and playing cards. outcome- placed stamp on all printed papers, applied stamp after taxes were paid. -
Declaratory act
purpose- parliament had the right to tax and make decisisions of the British colonies. outcome- asserted parliament authority to pass laws that were binding on the American colonies -
townshend act
purpose- set of laws passed by parliament, colonist would resist internal taxes. outsome- taxes would only apply to imported goods, glass, tea, paper -

purpose- allowed the comapny a virtual momoply or sole of the trad ein america outcome- sell tea directly to shopkeepers -
Coercive act
purpose- puish the people of massachuetts fot thier resistance of British laws outcome- closed boston harbor until the ruined tea was paied for -
Quebec act
puropse- this law set up government for Quebec, gave west of Applachian Mts. and north of ohio river outcoem- colonists expressed their feelings in their name for the new laws.
