Richard the Lionheart becomes King
After Henry II died, Richard the Lionhearted became the King of England since both of his brothers end up dying. He was crowned in Westminster, Abbey in September 1189. -

Richard the Lionhearted joins the third Crusade
1 year after becoming King, Richard set out with King Philip II, of France. Their job was to lead the third crusade in the fight for control over the holy land. During this crusade they had many victories including conquering Cyprus. -

Richard the Lionhearted is married
Richard the lionheart was married on May 12, 1191 to Berengaria of Navarre. He was married on the island of Cyprus. -

Richard the Lionheart fails
Richard the Lionheart had accomplished the goal of positioning his army within Jerusalem, with the goal of retaking the city from Saladin which was the main point of the crusade. But he was unsuccessful. In 1192, Richard and Saladin had reached an agreement which allowed access to the city for Christians but not possession of the city. -

Richard the Lionheart dies
After leaving from England, Richard spent the last five years of his life fighting over French territories against Philip II. Richard claimed the land was his or his families. On April 6th, 1199 he died from an arrow while watching the siege of a castle.
