    Greek Scholars sought refuge in IUtaly from the Ottomans. The Greek Scholars brought with themm works by acnient writers tjat that Italians had thought to be lost.This brought about new ideas to the Italians who could read. They read Arabic translations of origianla texts and searching for other lost texts. The more they read the more they started to think about Philosophy andscience in different ways.

    Masaccio
    Masaccio, who's birth name is Tommaso di Ser Giovanni di Simone, was the first great Italian painter of the Quattrocento period of the Italian Renaissance. His painting ''Crucifixion'' is a painting of Jesus Christ being hung up on the cross to die for our sins. The painting is located in Naples and Jesus dying and washing away of our sins is in the Bible in Luke 23:44-46.

    Jan van Eyck
    Jan van Eyck was an Early Netherlandish painter active in Bruges. He created the ''Lucca Madonna'' in 1436. The painting is depicting Mary carrying the baby Jesus. It is said the woman modeling as Mary was Eyck's wife Margaretha.The lions on the throne at the sides of the chair Mary is sitting on are a reference to the throne of king Solomon, who is a descendant of Christ Jesus.

    Michaelangelo had crated alot of sculputres during his lifetime one of his very well known ones is his masterpiece called David. It stands at 14ft tall made of marble and took 3 years to complete. Michaelangelo studied anatomy to help make his work appear more life-like. This is significant because science was just advancing at the time and more artisns were using it to make their work look better .

    Michaelangelo was a famous Sculptor,painter, architect,poet and engeineer. He has creeated amazing works such as the Angerl,David and The Creation of Adama. But I will only talk about his work on the Sistine Chapel ceiling.It's about 40 meters (131 feet) long by 13 meters (43 feet) wide.The paintings have great context refrences to the Bible like The Fall oF Man which is a painting reliving the first sin of man. Its significance shows how strong Catholic power and influence was at the time.

    Leonardo Da Vinci is famously known for the Mona Lisa such as the Last Supper,Lady With An Ermine and more. But the Mona Lisa was originally a portrait of Lisa Gherardini, wife of Francesco Giocondo. The Mona Lisa is the earliest Italian portrait to focus so closely on the sitter in a half-length portrait. Around this time of art the artist focused more on making the paintings as realistic as possible. Mona Lisa's smile in the painting is said to be a visiual representation of happiness.

His painting of ''Venus of Urbiro'' shows Venus the goddess of love,beauty and fertility,she is laying nude on a couch/bed in a Renaissance palace. Greek/Roman gods played a huge part i the Renaissance era as a muse/spark of inspiration. t was a paining to Duke of Urbino Guidobaldo II Della Rovere. Venus is probably a symbol for sensuality in a marriage and the little girl at the back represents motherhood.

    Tintoretto, was an Italian painter. His painting ''Christ Washing the Disciples' Feet'' shows you how the Bible is greatly influnced the Renaissance artists. It's located in Museo Nacional Del Prado.We know that Christ's ashing of the disciples is in the Bible in John 13:1-17. Jesus washes his disciples feet right before thelast supper whcih shows us how he was a servant king and put others before him.

    Pieter Brufel The Elder was as Flemish artist known for his painting's landscape.The Hunters In the Snow which is an oil-on-wood painting,one of the first winter landscapes in the history.The Painting shows three hunters returning from an expedition with their dogs,one hunter is carrying the corpse of a fox.In the Landscape of the painting you can see people ice-skating and playing hockey on a frozen lake.The painting of the landscape shows us how people enetertained themselves during winter .

    The Renaissance helped influence and lead to Baroq Art.The man in the painting is Mario Minniti, who was 16 at the time and a good friend to Caravaggio. Mario modeled for many other of Caravaggio's paintings.Caravaggio is well known for his realistic paintings. In ''Boy with a Baskey of Fruit, you can see how the fruits look luscious and aromatic which was a great skill of Caravaggio.
