    In my opinion the number of people that can be successfully integrated in our society is around 500 as I do not believe that the space available is enough to house more and thus it would be unwise to accept a larger crowd of refugees than what we can effectivly support, as it will do more bad than good, not only to the city but also to the refugees.

    In terms of accomodation, a gefugge camp with portacabins coyld be built in the large empty space where the niaimeros take place. Moreover the Xenias hotel could be renovated and used. In addition we can offer any vacant, abandoned houses to the refugees and the N.G.O.s can undertake to pay a nominal rent. Besides they can be accomodated to hotel rooms and the organizations can pay the hotel owners.

    In order to creat jobs for the refugees some entrepreneurship coyld be developed. For instance our city is known gor the saffran, so the refugees can help in the harvest. Also we can creat emloyment opportunities for them. Women can be employed in house cleaning, as waitresses at the local restaurants or at the local womens' cooperative. Men can be employed in farming or as craftsmen at local businesses.

    The schools of the area can help by encoyraging the developement of friendships between the locals and the refugees, or raise money in a bazzar or other philanthropic activities such as a ball, a charity. Furthermore the older students could be encouraged to help younger refugee school children with homework whenever they can afford the time. Another good idea is to invite refugee children to birthday parties or ask them to participate in other activities.

    There are many benefits that the local community could enjoy. For exemple it will receive an economical boost as the refugees will spend the money of the allowence they are given by the U.N. and the N.G.O. in the local shops and it will also enjoy the publicity and the medias attention which can lead to donnation. Another major advantage is the manspower that can be used in agriculture and other jobs.
