A story about the white people who arrived in north america find many resources on this enough to build a great country. But they have a problem,they found the Native American who have lived here for a long time caused conflict between the two sides, so that white people deal with a native people are moving to another place and will protect them.They agreed, but the journey was very difficult and lose a lot of people. -
Mormons
Mormons are a religious and cultural group related to Mormonism, the principal branch of the Latter Day Saint movement of Restorationist Christianity, initiated by Joseph Smith.According to their teachings, they have to abstain from alcohol,tea,coffee,and tobacco.And they have to tithe 10% of their income. Many live in Colorado City. Women can not choose their spouse.Males typically have 3 wives.Males are kicked out between ages of 13-21.1-2% of Mormons practice Polygamy like this. -
Joseph Smith (In relation to the Mormons)
Joseph Smith was the founder and first president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.He has about thirty wives. Because he believes that having a many wife will make him ascension.He went to pray in the woods and claimed to have seen God and Jesus appear before him. It forever changed Joseph Smith and has become a central tenet of Latter-day Saint belief.On June 27, 1844,There was a mob storming into his house and he was killed. -
Andrew Jackson
Andrew Jackson is the signatory Indian Removal Act, this is a law that creates a lot of conflict. While the theoretical migration is a voluntary migration, but in fact it is a case of pressure on Indians leaders created by the United States government to sign the treaty that made Indians disadvantage.The U.S. government pays compensation to them and they have to go. The Indians were forced to travel long and hard. Americans ended up not paying the Indians and made them defend for themselves. -
The Alamo
In December 1835, the Texas Volunteer Army occupied the Alamo. After a few months, on February 23, 1836. The Alamo was besieged by a large number of Mexican troops, led by General Antonio Lopez de Santa. Two-hundred Alamo soldiers commanded by James Bowie, William Travis and the frontiersman Davy Crockett–held, them do not give up and fight for freedom with thousands of Mexican soldiers for thirteen days. On March 6, them had defeated. Santa Anna kill everyone except a few. -
Trail of Tears
Trail of Tears is an Indian expedition after being forced to relocate.They traveled west to Oklahoma a distance of 2200 miles for about three months. On their first trip they did not suffer from food shortages because they could find food along the way. But after several rounds, food is getting scarcely
causing many deaths due to lack of food and sick.During the trip, the travel expenses were unfair, the U.S.government ignores the events with them. -
Donner Party
Lead by Jacob and George Donner, left Springfield, illinois, in April 1846. The party followed the California Trail went to westward to Fort Bridger, Wyoming. They decided to redirect to a shorter route, follow the instruction by Lansford Hastings, but the way made them waste more time than expected. Them crossed the Sierra Nevada Mountains late in the season. A heavy snowfall blocked way, trapping them in a frozen wilderness. Survivors of 45 from 89 arrived in California the following year. -
Mexican War
The war between United state and Mexico, cause of United States’ annexation of Texas, can not agree. The United State Army have won almost every battle. The war ended in 1848 and made the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo. After all this battles Mexico sold more than half of the country's land to the United States.The war made United State had the territories of Texas, California, Nevada and Utah in addition to pieces of New Mexico, Wyoming, Arizona and Colorado. -
Brigham Young
He became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1832, he was appointed apostle in 1835, after the assassination of Joseph Smith in 1844, Young was appointed Mormon leader and continued to serve until his death. 1847 December 27, He had sustained as a president of church at Kanesville . He commanded the evacuation of 16,000 Mormons from Illinois, Utah from 1856 to 1852, and became governor of the Territory in 1851. He died after John D. Lee trial on August 29, 1877. -
Gold Rush
Gold was discovered in the Sacramento valley in early 1848. The news spreaded out, bring people to mining at San Francisco and the around area. FIrst they found gold in the ground, later streams and rivers. By the end of 1849, the population had risen to over one hundred thousand in the state of California. After 1852 the gold was harder to reach. The best way by with hydraulic mining. The gold rush had made the state of California develop rapidly, and became a state in 1850.
