Practice TExES Exams
I must pass a practice TExES exams with a 75+ score before being allowed to take the certifying TExES exam. To prepare I can visit https://twu.edu/texes-prep/. Here I learn 5 different ways I can prepare for the official TExES exam including: TExES PREP Center located in 217 Stoddard Hall, PREP Canvas site, face-to-face workshops, TExES PREP center study resources list, and practice TExES exams. -
Submit TEP Application
There are five requirements before being accepted into the Teacher Education Program: Basic Skill Assessment, 2.75+ GPA, Oral Communication Skills, TEP Application, and Signed Disposition. I have completed all my Accuplacer tests. I have maintained my GPA. I have completed my communications course. Now, I must submit my application so I can continue taking my EDUC courses. -
Take EDUC 3000/4000 Courses
After being accepted into the Teacher Education Program and completing EDUC 2003, I will be able to take the rest of the Education courses required for my graduation.

TExES Exams
After completing most of my EDUC courses and successfully completing a practice TExES exam, I will be ready for the real deal. Just like the practice exams, I will be able to visit https://twu.edu/texes-prep/ to prepare. In the TExES PREP center I will be able to find books and preparation manuals. On the PREP Canvas Site, I will find online resources, practice exams, study mates, and videos. TWU also holds face-to-face workshops throughout the year for preparation. -
Student Teaching
Student teaching is the last step in receiving a certification through Texas Woman's University. Student teaching takes a whole semester on its own which is why this is the recommended last step. Once complete, I will be eligible to receive my degree and practice as a certified teacher in the state of Texas.
