1st trimester
During the 1st trimester the fetus grows a lot. The brain and spinal cord will develop within the first 5-6 weeks. Ears and eyes will form and the heart will start to beat regularly. By week 7-8 there are 4 chambers of the heart ears, lips, nose and all major organs form. By week 10 all body parts are present and week 11 genitals develop and the baby has teeth buds. In week 12 the baby will have fingernails and their face will be defined and they have intestines in their abdomen. -
Period: to
2nd Trimester
The baby should be active and moving and will start to be able to hear and the digestive system starts to form. The baby will go to sleep and wake up, all organs are formed and baby can suck its thumb. By week 22 baby has fingernails,finger prints, eyelashes and some hair and heartbeat can be heard with a stethoscope. -
Period: to
3rd trimester
During the third trimester the babies eyes will begin to open and close and lungs can breath air.The baby has finished major development and will have rapid weight gain the baby will respond to light and continues to grow nails and the skin is smooth and pink.
