Steamboats
Robert Fulton designed a boat the would be powered by steam engines, rather than water wheels. This invention increased trading because more cargo could be loaded on a boat and carried down the river, than it could by land on a wagon. -
National Roads
Albert Gallatin thought of the idea of National roads so that getting through the Alps would be easier to do. The Road ran from Maryland to Virginia. This helped Westward expansion. -

John Calhoun thought up the idea of the Erie Canals as a way to link Buffalo to New York City. -

Francis Cabot Lowell got together many women who wished to work outisde of the house and got them jobs in textile mills. It allowed new job oprotunities for women everywhere. -

John Deere invented the idea of a steel plow to combat rust, wear and tear, and to break up soil better. This invention made farming much easier and faster, increasing food, and productivity. -
Telegraph
Invented by Samuel Morse, the telegraph was used to communicate by sending out electrical currects that would make a tapping code, later named Morse Code. This invention made communtication across the U.S be available in minutes. -
Transcontinental Railroad
The Transcontinental Railroad made traveling from one end of the country to the opposite much easier to do. This helped Westward expansion.
