Personality Timeline

  • Birth Order Theory

Alfred Adler's birth order theory does not contain a group for triplets I will use the one for twins. It states that one will typically be stronger or more active and that the stronger one may become the leader. With this being said it is clear that I probably became the leader here as I am the strongest and the most active out of me and my brothers.
  • Oral Stage

The Oral stage of Freud's Psycho-sexual stages of personality development has the major development of the mother weaning the child off of breast feeding. If the child fails to become independent it can lead to eating problems or smoking as those are fixated in the oral area. Seeing as I did develop any of these problems, I was clearly able to develop independence during this stage.

    Social Learning

Within Albert Bandura's theory of Social Learning was observational learning where children learned from the people around them such as their parents. For me observational learning impacted the way I dealt with other people. I watched how my friends would treat other people and in turn that is how I began to treat other people so that I would fit in. Because of this I became kind of an asshole.

    Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs

Maslow's hierarchy of needs contains the basic needs that every person needs to have met in order to achieve self actualization. In high school I began to find out who I am and begin to make myself a better person then I used to be. This is because I was able to fill my belongingness and love needs as I found a solid group of friends who were able to support me as well as being happier with my family.
  • Big Five Personality Theory

In class we took the Big Five personality test and it showed parts of my personality such as me being disorganized and anxious. Overall I scored to be somewhat close-minded, disorganized, relatively extroverted, easy to express my irritation with others, and a generally anxious person.
  • Self Concept

Carl Rogers theory contained Self Concept which is how we think of ourselves. In class we took a self concept survey to show to measure our self clarity. On this survey I score a 35 which is below average for the mean for guys. This may be attributed to my self-esteem and how I see myself.
