It was a struggle for the administration to let him attend, but he was determined and created "The Rolling Quads" with a dozen other students pressuring the school board to become more accesible to disabled students.

She became one of the main leaders of the disabilities movement and organized multiple groups such as the DIA fighting for civil rights for the disabled.
