Boer war 2
This is the Seconed boer war. This is when the Afrikaners revolted against the british so that they could claim 2 colonies. They lost and the british claimed 4 colonies. -
The offical Beginning
This marks the beginning of apartied. Apartied in south africa, between blacks and whites, is very bad and is not treated very well. -
The Prohibition of Mixed Marriages Act
They declared that whites and blacks were not to be married. -
The Groups Areas Act
The act in which they had black stay in a restricted area. They were not allowed in other parts of the land other than their area. -
The Population Registration Act
It made people in three catigories. The catigories were blacks, colored, and whites. These colores were judged on how you dressed, education, and color of you skin. -
The Bantu Authorities Act
This caused blacks and colored people to only be able to live and vote in their native homeland. This would make colored and black people not south Africains. This also made it so that white kids would not go to school with them. -
Abolition of Passes and Coordination of Documents Act
Blacks had to carry a passport book every where they went. This booked showed their picture, name age and more things. I they didn't carry this book the could be put in prison, beaten, or put to death. -

Colored and black people refuesed to carry their pass books. -
Soweto Massacre
One day a big group of school kids burst out in anger. Police killed at least 200 of these kids. This Drawed the line for people as far as apartied. -
Beaten to death
An inocent black man was beaten to death in the custody of the police. His name was Steven Biko. -
Elected Presedent
Nelson mandela was elected president of South Africa. -
Mandela realeased from prison
Mandela was finally realeased from prison in the summer of 2013. -
Death
This is the date that Nelson mandela died.
