Back prior to 1960, the slide projector was invented. Teachers used this tool in the classroom to project images so that students had a visual of what the teacher was teaching. Slides or pictures were taken with a camera and then put in a tray which worked with the slide projector. -

Overhead Transparencies
Overhead transparencies were used with an overhead projector to bring visuals to the classroom. Teachers created the visual on a transparency and then used the overhead projector to display the image on a wall. -
Powerpoint
Powerpoint was released in 1990. The tool created a slide format presentation. It was used as a tool in the classroom to aid teachers in presenting material. It provided a visual for teachers. Students then starting using it for showcasing what they knew or researched on various topics. -
Prezi
Prezi is a web based/cloud based software tool used to created presentaions..The product employs a zooming user interface where slides move in and out. This became all the rage as teachers and students were bored with Powerpoint and liked the movement of Prezi. -
