Emergency Banking Relief Act
The Emergency Banking Relief Act was a legislation which gave the authority to develop a program of rehabilitation of banks and banking facilities and broadened the power of the president during a banking crisis. Wagner Act and the National Labor Relations Board
Part of the Second New Deal, The Wagner Act guaranteed the right to join and form an independent labor union and collective bargaining. It also established the National Labor Relations Board to enforce these rights and protect workers. This was a reform effort that aimed at preventing future issues with unprotected workers rights by establishing protection for them. -
Social Security Act
The Social Security Act created a fund to provide for old-age pensions, disabilities, and unemployment. This was funded by a payroll tax on workers and employers and was administered by the Social Security Administration through state-federal cooperation. Chandler Act
The Chandler Act was an overhaul of the existing legislation to restructure organizations and financials of an individual in the event of bankruptcy. It created the accessibility of bankruptcy options allowing more freedoms whilst also eliminating investment banks from the process with the addition of bankruptcy trustees, eliminating corruption and allowing those filing for bankruptcy to get a more fair shake. The act was apart of the Second New Deal and this initiative was centered on reform. -
Fair Labor Standards Act
Part of the Second New Deal, the Fair Labor Standards Act was a labor law which created the right to a minimum wage and overtime pay when people work over forty hours a week. This act prohibited the employment of minors in “oppressive child labor.” The Fair Labor Standards Act was a reform as it fought for fair labor standards and workers' rights.
